In the early 1900's, the renowned Toxaway Inn saw the likes of Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone, Thomas Edison, R.J. Reynolds, the Vanderbilts, and many other prominent guests. Among them were George & Lucy Armstrong from Savannah, GA. After a number of visits, the Armstrongs decided to build a summer home on the shores of Lake Toxaway. Designed to entertain their friends and family, this house stands today as the Greystone Mansion.
